The HP IndiChrome on-press system introduces two or three additional colors into the standard CMYK ink set.
​All tints and half-tone images are mixed from these six or seven basic colors.
​The HP IndiChrome system is similar in principle to PANTONE Hexachrome printing. 
The difference is that the HP IndiChrome on-press system uses the standard CMYK inks plus additional orange and violet inks​.
